Carl’s Thoughts” Carl S. Sims

Our congregation continues to read their Bibles. This week we are happy to report that Gene Forehand, Sally
Stroud and Marie Rougemont have completed the r eading of the New Testament. It is so impor tant for us to r ead our
Bibles on a daily basis. Who will be next?
Psalm 119:105 reveals to us “Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.” How true this is! God’s word
is a light to show us how to become a child of God and also how to live the Christian life. God’s word will change our lives . I
love the word of Hebrews 4:12 which reveals this concerning the word “For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper
than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner
of the thoughts and intents of the heart.” God’s word is so powerful and penetrating of the heart.
We pray that God will help us search the scriptures daily as Jesus tells us in John 5:39: “Search the scriptures; for in
them ye think ye have eternal life: and they are they which testify of me.”
Keep your eye on the cross of Jesus Christ!
