About the HYG

What is the HYG all about?

The Hilldale Youth Group (HYG) is a place to grow physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually.  This is done by harboring a Christ centered mindset as a group and making sure each individual feels loved.  Each event that is planned falls into one of three catagories that helps us implement the psychical, mental, emotional, and spiritual growth.

     These categories are:

  • Fellowship  – These events are usually fun in nature and help develop unity.
  • Faith            – These events center around growing one’s faith and Bible study.
  • Service         – These events focus on service and volunteer work within the community and the church.

Weather its Young & Old Alike Game Night, Nerf Gun Wars, Rake and Run, The Challenge Youth Conference, Tuesday Night Teen Devotionals, SNAC, Shopping Trips, Mission Trips, Movie Night, Lads 2 Leaders, Horizons at FHU, or Vacation Bible School they all fit into one (or more) of the areas above.

On Sunday morning at 9:00 AM our High School Youth Group meets in the youth room to study various Biblical topics.  On Wednesday night we meet in the same spot at 7:00 PM and have a textual study.

Our 7th – 12th graders make up the core “youth group,” however that doesn’t mean we leave the 6th grade and below out.  During the course of the year the Hilldale Kids (The HK) have various events and activities planned for them too.  This group includes out PreK through 2nd Grade.  We also have the Hilldale Youth Group Jr. which includes our 3rd through 6th Grade.  We have various events for both of these groups all year and some events that we call “crossover” events that involve our PreK through 12th grade and their families.
