SNOW DAY!!!
As I sit here, everyone in Clarksville is preparing for a big winter storm. Schools are canceling, and all the kids are heading home, grinning from ear to ear, because Wednesday is going to be a Snow Day. If you’re unfamiliar with the term, a Snow Day is simply a day off—a whole day when kids don’t have to go to school, parents may not have to go to work, and everyone gets a chance to relax.
Unless, of course, you have kids. Then, a Snow Day often means building a snowman, having a snowball fight, or finding the biggest hill to sled down. Technically, it is still a day off, even though it may not seem that way.
I wonder—how often do we take Snow Days in our walk with God? Have you ever thought, “It would be so much easier if I didn’t have to be a Christian today”? Maybe you haven’t said it outright, but have there been moments when you didn’t choose the high road like we are called to do?
In Colossians 3:17, Paul reminds us:
“And whatever you do, in word or deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.”
Paul is making it clear—there are no days off in our faith. As followers of Christ, we wear His name, and we are called to live like it every single day.
Are you a Christian? If so, did you know that when you chose to be baptized, you also chose to clothe yourself with Christ? (Galatians 3:27) That means we represent Him in everything we do. And because we wear Christ, we don’t take Snow Days in our faith.
Be mindful of your actions. Understand that people are watching—not to see you fail, but to see if your faith is real.
Today, I want to encourage you to set your mind on things above, not on the fleeting things of this world (Colossians 3:2). Decide today that you will not take a Snow Day in your faith.
